The Wretched: A Frankenstein Journal

Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley published "Frankenstein or The Modern Prometheus" in 1818, catalyzing the formation of science fiction, horror and fantasy literature as recognizable genres. Despite the subversive, transgressive and heathen philosophy underpinning its story, most Western adaptations have chosen to lens the story secularly. My goal, as we approach the November debut of Guillermo Del Toro's FRANKENSTEIN in November, is to seek a version of the story that highlights, rather than muddles, the profane soul of the Frankenstein story.
